Volunteers Focus Cleanup and Painting Work Around Woodswether Viaduct
On Saturday, April 18, neighbors and volunteers gathered for the West Bottoms Neighborhood Cleanup, a morning of hands-on work focused around the Woodswether Viaduct and surrounding streets.
Volunteers met at the 9th Street Community Garden at 651 Mulberry St. at 8:30 a.m. before heading out through the district. From 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., teams helped pick up litter, trim overgrowth, and improve one of the neighborhood's most visible corridors.
Later that week, board members and volunteers from TCKC also continued work on the Woodswether Viaduct, including painting and touch-up work on the viaduct railing. The effort builds on ongoing volunteer projects that help make the West Bottoms cleaner and more welcoming for residents, businesses, and visitors.
HWBA thanks everyone who gave their Saturday morning to the cleanup, as well as the volunteers and partners who helped coordinate the work. Lunch was provided to volunteers after the cleanup.
Small maintenance projects make a visible difference in a historic district. Thank you to everyone helping care for the West Bottoms.
